First Day Back On The Ladders

First day back on the ladders. Was very careful and just wanted to get a feel for things again so stakes very very low. Mostly £25 with a couple of £50 on lower priced horses. The main aim of today was to not lose money which I managed to achieve. The markets felt slow with only 2 meetings. I have always felt 3 is the optimum amout on any given day. 4 in an afternoon feels rushed.

Anyway onto tomorrow and it will likely be more of the same, I will be keeping stakes low until I feel comfortable in the market again.

 21/02/25 Starting Balance - £328.96 Closing Balance - £307.74 Profit/Loss - -£21.22 Strike Rate - 6/14 - 42% Awful trading after such a decent day yesterday. Felt completely alien to me today. Pretty much everything wrong. It's so frustrating as I can have a great day one day and then be completely hopeless the next. I don't get it. Given back nearly all of yesterdays profit. I have no consistency with this and never have done. 2 meeting day's don't help either. That's me done until Monday now.

A better day

 20/02/25 Starting Balance - £301.80 Closing Balance - £328.96 Profit/Loss - £27.16 Strike Rate - 10/15 I much better day, probably staked higher than I was planning. Was still ultra defensive and scratched a lot of trades that would have went in my favour but I wasn't sure so got out instead of taking a potential loss. One clear big loss which was just stupid, should've got out a lot earlier. Recovered well from it though. I've seen me spiral out of control after a loss like this. Strike rate needs to improve though.

Introduction

 Betfair Pre-race Horse Trading 18/02/25 So a little background on my pre race trading journey so far. I started trading during Covid-19 as my income had taken a significant hit as I am a sports photographer who couldn't work due to there being no/limted sport on. I was completely hopeless at it. I bought ever course under the sun and nothing seemed to help me. I persevered for around 3 years every day hoping something would eventually click but it didn't. I lost thousands of pounds along the way and gave up towards the end of 2023.  Here I am a year and half later and I'm giving it another go. It may work, it may not. I feel in a much better place mentally to make it work now however as I don't need the money anymore whereas when I was last trading I needed it to work to make money to pay bills etc which puts a huge amount of pressure on every days trading.
